Week 4

Proximal Goal: Complete 2 one hour full body workouts Wednesday August 11: Completed a 1.5 hour full body workout - Gators Gym Reflection: Today I decided to change things up, I came home for part of the week and went to my friends gym, where I had a great workout and feel great for going. I definitely enjoy the workouts at this gym as I have been once before and will seeking to make it a priority to go when I am home again.  I have noticed that because I am more conscious and focused on working out more by maintaining my goal I am also watching what I consume.  Thursday August 12: Completed a 40 minute hike & kayak Reflection: This was a good day as my girlfriends came up for a visit and we did lots of different activities. It was a fun filled day with lots of "unintentional" workouts here and there throughout the day. I have to say as we were talking at some point in the day we decided to try to keep each other accountable and do health related things; right away I...

Week 3

Proximal Goal: Complete 2 one hour full body workouts Tuesday August 3rd: Completed Thursday August 5th: Completed Reflection: This week was a little bit of a different week, Tuesday I did not do my regular workout for two reasons: 1.) We were building a deck 2.) it was in the HEAT! I sweated more than my one hour workout... lifting wood, moving wood and walking back and forth this was not your small deck this is a 44 x 14 ft deck. I was worried that if I went to class I would be sick because of the heat and didn't want to ruin my Thursday workout! Thursday  I did it! Workout was complete, I found it hard to go at the beginning, but once I got there I felt so much better. My body enjoyed it and I enjoyed it!

Week 2

Proximal Goal: Complete 2 one hour full body workouts Tuesday July 27th: Completed Thursday July 29th: Completed This weeks reflection: This week was a great week, I made the time and found that I was more motivated this week than last week. I am finding that a major part of the motivation comes from the classes themselves, the timing, the way my instructor changes up the classes (because I tend to get bored doing the same thing) and she challenges us. I also found that I wanted to make up for my not reaching last weeks goal.

Week 1

Proximal Goal Week 1: Complete 2 one hour full body workouts - Incomplete Week 1: July 20th & 22nd Tuesday: Workout completed Thursday: Class cancelled by instructor This weeks reflection: This was my first week and as you can see, it did not go as planned. Instead of getting upset with myself as a fixed mindset would do, I thought to myself at the end of the week, what could I have done differently? Well, instead of waiting for my instructors class (even though I did not get notified until 6pm when the class starts at 7pm) I should have done a work out on the Friday and used my oxygen on demand membership. Part of my learning through this course is finding the motivation, I clearly was not motivated to reach my goal for this week however, I learned that part of my SRL is that I did not beat myself up about it and for that I am very happy and proud of myself because I was not always like that. Stay tuned for more next week...

Distal Goal & About ME

About Me:  Welcome, I'm Daniella and here you will find my self-inquiry project about Self Regulated Learning. I am using this platform as a source to document my goals, and reflect.  My Goals:  Distal Goal: Complete a full-body workout 2x/week for one hour during the summer by August 17, 2021. Proximal Goals: You can find these under each week's blog The reason I chose working out as my goal is because I always say I am going to workout and I never do; or I just procrastinate; or I start and keep going and then lose momentum after about a week or so. Overall, I have found some positives during my experience and some areas to improve upon. You can find out more in my weekly reflections.
